Reads like an agenda based piece, but "ultimately doing the same job as men" hardly warrants equal pay. If that was the case then there would not be a gulf in finances between the Premier League and League Two.

Any female footballer demanding equal rights need to ask themselves this, how did male football clubs form and what was behind the creation of The Football League?

I've watched a few of the England matches lately, and I don't know whether to be worried or not. They seem to be outplayed technically in every match, but usually come away winners after weathering the storm and then getting stronger as the match wears on. Maybe they are just a counter attacking team, but they seem a lot less comfortable on the ball than pretty much everyone else they've been playing.

I do know that England have been trying out a lot of players in these matches, so it may be that come the WC their best XI will be much better than this, but that may also be true of the recent opposition sides

Encouraging that they are winning most of these games, though. I didn't see the Canada game, which is the one they lost

What Hope Solo does not realise is FIFA have to shell out compensation to clubs of selected players so they can play in the World Cup. Just playing in the group stages is roughly £160,000. 160,000 x 23 players x 32 teams dwarfs the £24 Million prize money in the female equivalent, far from discrimination.

I enjoyed the match between Germany and Spain last night. As in the warm up match against England, Spain played neat, technically adept football; dominated possession, but lost by the odd goal, because they just can't score unless gifted a soft penalty.

Germany won something like their 7th consecutive match 1-0.... and it was a soft goal too. Hard to see USA and France being unduly worried about anybody except each other

USA beat Thailand 13-0 and the girl who scored 5 of them (surely golden boot winner already) was criticised for 'overly celebrating' her goals.... typical social media!

To say the Women's Super League is meant to be professional, do the players practice ball control?

England's composure in the final third is shocking, over-hitting the ball and not controlling a pass. Had enough possession to put this game to bed at half-time.
