Need either quick wickets or there's going to be enough time for Lancs to put this game beyond us whilst having enough time to bowl us out. If we don't bowl them out soon I hope they're overly cautious with any declaration.

Hopefully not out for long but that is good news!
Lead is 250 and still 7 ( or 8 with no Jimmy ) down. Vilas is another regular thorn in our side.

how long will they bat for in the morning?

I confess to being a bit disappointed when I saw the COP score. That almost 100 run 6th wicket stand looks match defining

Yep. Think there's a very good chance we'll collapse in the second innings but despite a few frustrating passages of play that may well cost us the game I'm still quite encouraged by the performance over 3 days. We've been competitive and even if it goes horribly wrong tomorrow-and despite no Jimmy I have a feeling it will - we'll still have reasons to believe things might be getting better.

The batting is more disciplined nowadays, it was the bowling that disappointed. Carse is undisciplined in both batting and bowling and Rimmington's 2nd inns wickets were both gifts. Nevertheless it's been enthralling cricket in a beautiful setting.

According to cricinfo there's some uneven bounce? The reporter implies a chase of 200 might be tricky. If that's the case it sounds ominous even without Anderson to deal with.

Vilas finally out but the lead is 285. Onions out for another duck but Anderson is batting.
Not sure there's any point in him coming in. Just wasting time.

Lees and Harte joining Jimmy in taking no further part in the game by adding 0 to the desperate fight for survivalrun chase.
In theory we could score another 265 but in reality... :facepalm

I know it was fortunate not to have Anderson causing havoc but a draw against a very strong side is a great result.

I confess to hoping that we didn't bowl them out too early this morning. If we had then we might very well have lost, but it seemed clear to me that, with Santiago out, Lancs would always err on the side of caution and hand us our best chance of saving the game.

Good to see Bangers seeing us to safety

and good to see Clark hanging around for the best part of an hour and a half

I'd have been fairly confident if we'd had to chase 200.
The occasional ball kept low and was responsible for a couple of wickets but otherwise the pitch was true but the outfield incredibly slow which Vilas obviously didn't take into account. Had he declared when he was out with about 88 overs remaining with a target of 280ish which would have been the equivalent of 340ish on a normal outfield, they'd have had a new ball for the last 8 overs. Would have been a massive advantage.
Jimmy was batting on one leg ,proding only at balls on the wicket and leaving the rest. Ludicrous asking for him to bat.
Delighted with a draw- in the field Lancs were shocking, made the Surrey of a few years back look like a set of choirboys.
