Might get your wish. I think this is a tough pitch to score fast on. But if they could just rotate the strike a bit more and stay in the game I don't think it will be overs they run out of. Buttler is the man who can score at a rate later on...just don't want to leave him too much to do.
Root and Bairstow actually both contributed to their dismissals trying to force - Root especially culpable. They really don't need to panic.

Four per over from the next nine would leave 130 to make from twenty . If they've got batsmen in that is not outrageous. What they don't need is being down to the bowlers...

Is this the best pitch that the home of cricket can serve up for a world final?

A real shocker making for a turgid spectacle.

I don't know how much say the ICC has in pitch preparation but with our record at Lords, NZ being the best bowling team in the tournament, how have we ended up with this green sticky pile of shite?!
