Yep. Pretty dreadful right now weather wise but better for it to hammer down now rather than tonight.

supposed to be dry from now until play starts, but it looks as though heavy rain may very well end things early, so we'll have to keep everything crossed

unless it looks as though we are going to lose, then the rain dance will have to come out

If we are in a winning position it'll probably get rained off before the second innings is long enough to constitute a game and if not we'll probably get exactly 5 overs and lose on DL.

It'll be " and Durham's target is 149 from 5 overs...(or) Leicestershire's target is 18 runs"
Seriously though I think it works ok most of the time in 50 over games with occasional odd looking targets but T20 becomes a farce if DL comes into play. Suppose though there has to be a way to try and get a result. Otherwise loads of games in the South group would be no results on account of the poor weather. ;)

I bet you couldn't get any pies- Cosgrove looks as if he's ate them all.

What size was the gate?

I'll tell you what... he brings hope to all of us

He chased a hopeless cause all the way to boundary in front of me and the capt, and the stand we were sitting in was shaking ;)

I confess I like him. The capt reckons he's a welcome nod to the the past.... too many athletes in the game nowadays.

Weather held off nicely.... didn't even threaten, for which I take all the credit, because I brought the magic brolly....... it usually only rains when I don't bring it.

Crowd down on last time by a good couple of thousand, I reckon... but then it would be I suppose.. wednesday night and loads of weather about. decent enough turn out, but the DJ found it harder to get a reaction from the crowd than he did last time

An accomplished performance from the team. Short was imperious, Trevaskis bowled well. We were sharp in the field and Handscomb was terrific, effecting a diving catch and a really fine run out.

Clark will feel good tonight, I reckon. Promoted to opener he stuck with what looked like his 'go to' shot at first, the late cut through backward point, which worked well for him until he got some fluency going. He kind of spluttered his way to the mid teens, but once his feet were moving, he was away. That knock might very well be the thing that turns his season around. He was good in the field too... took a good catch over his head running backwards looking into the sun and made some excellent stops on the edge of the ring. All in all a good performance from him

Phil Mustard was at the ground. His baby (when I last saw him) is now a small boy of 7 or 8..... I'm getting more and more old, more and more quickly. Phil was doing what he usually does.... leaning out of a doorway and shouting to somebody far away.... reminded me of Old Trafford in 2010 when he was capt and he tried to kick the warm up football into the players dressing room from the pitch, missed, and scattered the crowd underneath.... daft as a brush. Umpire Mustard now, of course

hey ho........ Lancs on Friday.... that'll be a real test

they are too busy cutting and pasting the crapinfo report which is, of course, compiled in Mumbai based almost entirely on the scorecard and sent via a conferencing app to a London studio

And they call it progress!
