Worcs spank us to within an inch of our life, with Guptill and Wessels running rampant through our bowling..... and then they get torn apart by Leics, who we spanked twice and look a particularly ordinary side, with Will Davis (who we've been feasting on in this and the one day cup) taking 3 wickets for 24 runs, and Guppy and the dreaded Wessels bobbling along to scores of 12 and 17 at run a ball pace

and all on a subbuteo sized pitch at Worcester

It's a daft game at times

Lancs are the team to beat this year

Yep. Very unpredictable tournament- apart from Lancashire winning.

Liam Doneathy, just turned 18 year old, figures of 10-0-60-3 for England U19 v Bangladesh U19. Victims all in the top order.

from crapinfo......

Durham are set for a scrap to reach the quarter-finals for a second year running, a sentence which must have seemed improbable at the start of last season.

What they lack in high-profile names - D'Arcy Short and Peter Handscomb are the only real stars - they more than make up for with wholehearted contributors, which is perhaps epitomised best by their unlikely death-bowling duo.

Nathan Rimmington, the diminutive 36-year-old Australian seamer who plays on a British passport, has combined with 20-year-old Matty Potts to great effect so far, and the pair find themselves leading the way among regular death bowlers.

Rimmington's economy rate at the death is 7.01, and his 59 balls in overs 16-20 have brought only four boundaries, while Potts has an almost identical record to last year's breakout star Pat Brown - both have conceded 65 runs in 48 balls at the death, though Brown has one wicket more.

Pretty good summary. I think our issues are from number 3 down! The wins have been down to Short and Steel - or Short and Clark. Everytime we had to rely on the rest of the batting the results have been disastrous. Lees is a good player and Handscomb is an international but the rest don't inspire confidence.
Hopefully they'll prove me wrong starting tonight.

squad includes Rushy, who replaces Harte

I'd like to see Raine bat lower, if he's going to play, with Clark at 3 and Handscomb at 4. Seems pointless having the new OS bat coming in late in the piece especially if the lower order are busy throwing their wickets away or unable to feed him the strike. We are not the sort of side that can suddenly explode late in the innings and take a game away from the opposition... we have to score our runs up front or we won't score enough

I'd like to see Raine not play at all, if I'm honest, because he doesn't seem to offer anything in any dept... or at least he hasn't up to now.... fine player that he is, this just doesn't seem to be his format

Raine has a T20 ton to his name so he's worth persevering with the bat but I agree that his bowling appears cannon fodder. I'd hope Handscomb was only batting down the order because he'd come immediately from red ball cricket and will now come in earlier.
Actually I think the little leprechaun isn't a bad finisher so I'd go
Short
Steel
Clark
Handscomb
Lees
Raine

would you play Rushy? Not sure I would

Rimmer, Potts, Trevaskis have done pretty well. Carse is the obvious weak link, but he hasn't been quite as profligate in the last couple of matches as he was earlier... not that that says very much

Poynter was ok early on, but if we were to hand the captaincy to Short and give the gloves to Handscomb, then we could replace the sister with Jack Burnham who has been (I can't believe I'm about to say this) a good fielder and a safe pair of hands in the deep. Now I need to lie down in a darkened room for a bit.... I think I may have just had one of those funny turns common amongst old people

Burnham hasn't had an outstanding season with the bat but I think he has shown signs he could be very good. And now he's remembered how to catch!

Don't worry D/F. It was Jack who had the funny turns but it was nowt to do with senility.
Be careful what you sniff in that darkened room mind.

Rimmington and Carse expensive but the target should be well under 150 barring a disastrous finish.
Potts - so far! - excellent again.
