Job done, but England are still looking a long way off world beaters to me. The openers are horrendously out of nick, the batting order and balance still seems off, they're relying on two players to get all their runs ( and when one of those two failed, they lost) and the death bowling was pretty weak.

They got away with it as Pakistan were dreadful with their fielding and even worse with the bat. They had some tidy bowlers but that was about it.

West Indies next. They've been poor so far in the tournament too, but men or women, they have a habit of raising their game against England. England should win, but you never know in t20s.

I'd add that Brunt seems a million miles away from the bowler she has been. Giving away 7 runs from wides when bowling at tail enders suggests to me that she knows she's out of nick and is trying too hard

Bangladesh look set to upset New Zealand Only 92 to win, after New Zealand collapsed to spin. Not impossible NZ could defend it given the Bangladesh batting, but it's unlikely.

Australia would be the main beneficiaries, as it should pretty much guarantee their qualification, unless they lose so heavily to NZ that they can overcome an NRR deficit of around 3.

Somehow NZ defend 91. The retired hurt didn't help, but that's either a very dodgy wicket or some awful batting. Given it's Bangladesh, I suspect the latter.

So, no favour, and Australia-New Zealand becomes a quarter final, straight knockout.

NZ pulled that one out of the fire ! Bangladesh apparently struggled with the pressure ...but it was an improved effort from them in the field anyway and will still hope to take Sri Lanka on Monday...and earn auto qualification for the next cup.
NZ will need to play better to beat Australia in their "quarter final". They are well capable though so it is quite a game in prospect.

In the other pool , SA have one hand on top spot ...Pakistan 66/4 needing another 71 from 42 balls....unlikely , I think.
SA haven't been totally convincing : bit sloppy in the field , had a huge piece of luck with a run out at the bowlers end when the non striker was out of her ground and the bowler touched a return drive onto the stumps...the victim , Javeria Khan , was herself batting beautiful for 31 so a big loss.

Five gone now for 72. Think SA safe.
