As it happens , Beaumont got out for nought...but that doesn't mean it was the wrong move. One might argue she needed some practice ...
Wyatt played pretty well and fell to a wonderful catch. So up to Kight and Sciver again : and they're doing the job. 83/2 after 13 on a difficult pitch...I don't think they will need a monster score ; and having the extra spinner may be very handy later on.

Sciver departs for an excellent 57 ...but Jones seems to be relishing the move down to six. And they're getting 140 as Brunt tees off too...
143 in fact. Brunt two boundaries to finish...might that give her confidence for bowling ? Jones 23 from 13 . Not a bad score I think. WI will need to bat really well to get them.

at 72-2 from 12 i was a little fearful that they weren't going to give themselves a chance

143 feels decent on this pitch. Sydney has been hard to score on throughout, I believe. The sort of pitch that would suit a Twatto and a Thunder, but not many others.

So England have given themselves a chance, but they'll need to be disciplined with the ball and hang onto any catches that present themselves, or it could easily slip away if Brunt starts firing wides down every over

Windies really struggling against Ecclestone...but poor Katherine has borne the Brunt of Taylor's aggression , conceding two boundaries at the end of the power play... Hasn't been at her best in this with the ball , has she ? Think I might have let Sciver bowl that over but even so England are on top here . 38/1 in the eighth and a lot of work for these two bats to do...

Brunt has gone for 20 off 2 overs in a low scoring game. I'd be keeping her away from the ball until the game is at least well and truly in the bag

England's fielding has been a bit sloppy - several drops ; but they have this in the bag. Spinners all doing brilliantly.glenn 4 overs 2/16 , Villiers 1/17 prof three...and Ecclestone has 2/7 from three...not doing my fantasy league chances any harm

England march to the semi's, but with some questions that need answering.

Brunt is an issue (hopefully Beaumont isn't)
the fielding has been generally poor throughout... most matches seem to have involved a few dropped catches.... those have to stop.

England will get India, presumably..... a WIndies shock win against SA feels unlikely. Another slow turner might prove interesting in the SF

Ecclestone has been excellent all mmm tournament, and she's only 21. Well played.

Taylor injured, and my fantasy team's chances head further down the gurgler.

Shame there will be 2 dead rubbers is the last round of games. West Indies South Africa will only determine whether SA finish first or second in the the group as well.

Is it my imagination, or have there been few successful chases so far?
