the trouble with gambles is that they don't always pay off

Another terrific game . Hats off to Maxwell and Carey - that was a remarkable partnership. Had some luck of course , but sort of earned it.

Bizarre choice to bowl Rashid at the end though. The desperation move to use him for the 48th worked ; but no need to punt again with two new batsmen in and ten runs needed ...Cummins unable to hit Archer - why would it have been any easier to hit Wood ? He'd been bowling at up to 95 mph... I'm betting Starc - or anyone - would have preferred the option of having a swing at a leg spinner :)

Have praised Morgan for some cool captaincy often enough ; but reckon he got this one badly wrong.
