I have to disagree - looked out to me. Root almost didn't review it and clearly told Stokes it was pad first; and then even Swann said he was delighted but that it looked out with the replay from the mid off angle which shows the ball going from pad to bat to pad. How you can say it was an awful on-field decision is beyond me.

Shows the danger of experimenting - I don't think this is the pitch as such - I think it's the way the pjnk ball is behaving. The ball is apparently harder and has extra lacquer on it so nobody was sure how it would behave. On a lot of the lbws you can see the ball skidding on off the lacquer much more than normal, whereas it behaves more normally when it hits the seam

Because there is absolutely no way the umpire can see thats gone pad-bat-pad

So hes either completely guessing or somehow missed the massive inside edge

England are still about 50 runs away from making the worst 20 wicket total ever scored in India, and at the moment the odds on them getting there are pretty equal to not. After that its another 50-60 runs to 2nd place.

So regardless of how tough this is, this is rubbish. Historically rubbish. Nothing else, no excuses.
