Lawrence mixing the loose with the sublime. Played some lovely attacking strokes even if at times his defence isnt great.

Oh Ollie Pope, what have you done. Looked so comfortable, then gets one ball that turns and beats him, and its clearly got into his head. You could say hes desperately unlucky that loops up from the inside edge, but its an atrocious stroke to play. Not really sure what he was trying to do.

Infuriating cricketer Pope. I think he looks excellent at times, but he lets himself down a lot.

Ashwin gets Foakes, another arm ball that Foakes doesnt pick. Top quality bowling that, hes got that lovely drift going on the other one, lovely dip as well.... watching Ravi can be a joy at times

Well I thought that was out from Lawrence, but I can understand the umpire not being sure. Didnt hear what the soft signal was. Would have been the most unlucky dismissal in the history of my cricket watching, smashing the ball into the big toe of short leg and being caught behind. Reminiscent of the Trescothick dismissal a few years back when Gilchrist caught a similar ball coming off short leg. Total freak incident, but he gets away with it

Pitch is definitely flatter. England feel at least 100 under par, maybe even more depending on how long the pitch takes to turn.

Lawrence gone. Stumped. A bad end to a pretty decent innings. definitely enough quality on show to buy himself more time at this level, but its a bad shot....very frustrating dismissal.

I liked Strauss saying England would get around 220 when 189-8..... I think that was pretty hopeful. Even 200 looks very unlikely

Yep. Poor effort on this pitch, there is some spin there but nothing drastic at all. A few got in, but too many didnt.

First blood India. England need the new ball to remove some Indians tonight. It seamed and bounced first up a little, so they have to make a dent tonight. Not sure with the first session over rate if we will get all 12 overs left in, but certainly an opportunity for 1 or 2

I think Lawrence was slightly fortuitous then. I think it looked more out to my eyes, couldnt be certain, but if the soft signal was out you couldnt be certain it grounded either.

Just saying that a few England players arent feeling well, including Stokes. If England knew Stokes was feeling ropey, then picking him as the fifth bowler on a wicket like this could be a very bad decision. I guess Root can bowl, but this aint a big turner as yet, so you'd want a better bowler in back up
