He was doing Sky commentary on Thursday's match and mentioned it on 2 occasions making it sound a statement of fact- gave the impression he'd got it from Stokes himself. He was very positive about the whole Durham set up,positively drooling about Potts and impressed with the discipline of both the fielding and bowling a a unit, whilst self- deprecating about his own lack of bowling discipline. His analysis was very good, far bette than the likes of Dagnal and Butcher, who introduced the man of the match as David Bedingfield.

I'd rather take a point than a 5 over piece of nonsense, so I'm hoping it tosses it down in Leeds

Except that I'd have been pretty confident of beating them in a full game.
Intend attending tomorrow's tabletopper for 1st time under restrictions. I take it I can just walk up as a member and what's the protocol regarding hand luggage?

I have a feeling they would prefer you not to take a bag

I'm sure I've read that somewhere

Fathers day tomorrow, of course, so I'm not fully in control of my day. Seemingly members are guaranteed admission, so presumably if I wander down just before the match starts there will be no problem getting in even if capacity has been reached

Weather should not be a problem despite the shocking forecast for Sunday a couple of days ago. They now seem to think that there may be a little bit of rain on the morning, but the afternoon will be dry, bright and sunny

Yes, think it's recommended against but quite a few had one.

Yeah, might be a bit longer of a queue just at the start but it was quite quiet for Lancashire so I suspect there'll be fewer in again tomorrow. Odd thing is there seemed to be a security team in addition to the stewards on Friday - don't remember seeing them there at the Yorkshire game.

Thanks for that D/F.
I'm afraid my between innings picnic is one of the highlights of a T20
game for me so I'll be avec backpack which stewards are welcome to inspect, I've never partaken of alcohol at a Riverside game ever.
Father's Day probably explains why this game is not a sellout yet Wednesday 's is.
Victory should take us to the top of the table. Then it will be a glass of the chilled stuff on returning home.

Presumably you mean Thursday v Lancs not Headingley? Harmi mentioned a gate of 4500 which is above the restricted capacity. Also of a few anti-papist and IRA chants from University students but they weren't audible on TV. They appeared raucous but harmless but maybe the club had a tipoff and the security was a safeguard.

Yes, sorry. Thursday. I think you might well be right because there was a group of security people near the old score board & beer tent who seemed to be discussing sections of the crowd.
It's hard to judge attendances but it looked to me as if the Yorkshire crowd was bigger, if Lancs game had 4500 I'd guess the Yorkshire gate was over 5000.

Yes,it's difficult to judge attendances when you don't know how many have fell through the trapdoors :dunno
I suspect that the club have allocated a ball mark figure based on historic averages of members attending and selling any excess until the 4000 capacity is reached. If more than average members rock up on the night then capacity will be exceeded. But, as I've always maintained, given decent weather and a competative team, we can attract decent crowds to T20.

Kyle Coetzer ( and Ally Evans who I hadn't heard of) are in the squad- 2 match loan deals from Scotland according to the tweet. Wonder where Stokes will bat. 3?

don't change the opening pair when they're doing so well atm. 3 would seem the obvious choice, with Raine dropping down to Coughlin's spot
