How does this comp work? I'm guessing that the top team from each group go straight to the SF... do not pass GO do not collect £200... and presumably a home semi too, whilst the first ko's are 2nd -v- 3rd to see who faces them. Only guessing though

Yes, I think a win on Thursday will give us a home SF on Tuesday ( and if Essex lose that should do it ) but if Essex win and we lose it'll be a home QF on Saturday because we can't finish outside the top 2.
The amusing thing is that the final is a week on Thursday!

Yes,2 days to make arrangements for followers of the teams that reach the final- 1pm start which necessitates either on overnight stop or getting home at daft o'clock. FTECB live up to their name-the board that keeps on giving.

clearly they have lower standards than Lords

I seem to recall that TB lost out on test matches for the 5 year cycle (probably didn't bung the ECB enough money) so presumably these finals were offered as a sweetener to keep them pliable and stop them complaining too much

Didn't see any of it but seems to have been a strange innings- solid start and strong finish but disastrous in-between. Hopefully the recovery from 100/7 means conditions are decent- I'm on my way to find out!

Conditions are fine and at 109/1 it should be straightforward- should being the operative word!
Essex look like winning their game as of now.

Great century for Clark, think him and Lees are the leading run scorers in this competition. Excellent half century from Borthwick- no real alarms and just 50 needed to win. It can't possibly go wrong- can it?

only a 97 run 8th wicket stand offered any respectability to the Hampshire scoreline, but 228-1 in reply says everything really

Clark and Lees have been trading places all season at the top of the run scorers table

Don't matter now, but Essex still have a bit of work to do to beat Lancs.... 61 required off 9 overs is not a gimme
