I think you're right - Notts always looked like getting wickets when we were batting. And Trevaskis getting hit on the head twice.

this is an enormously feeble effort. Notts have just batted for nearly two days on this pitch before declaring and we are effectively going to lose 20 wickets in a day

Dire display. Potts and maybe Dickson emerge with credit. Massive gulf between the two sides. I think defeat was inevitable after Notts got such a lead but effectively being bowled out in a session is hopeless.

Yes, didn't bother going dowh bur by the looks of it Borthwick was the only one who tried to stick it out.
Notts have an excellent attack who will probably roll a lot of teams over but they made our attack seem - Potts aside - toothless. Rushworth didn't do anything in the warm-up games and 3 games in he is still not firing. Is it too early to be concerned?
We've seen this befote though -if batsmen get settled in decent conditions we can't get wickets unless Carse or someone else with pace can unsettle them.

dismal and abject performance from start to finish

I had hopes for this season... not high hopes, but I thought we'd do better than this

when we do score runs we can't bowl teams out, when we don't score runs we face the prospect of innings defeats

maybe Carse will change things. Lees will hopefully be back and we might get a pitch that suits us more if we go somewhere else to play

or perhaps not

I thought it was blindingly obvious by tea on day one how this match was going to pan out..... and a week ago I didn't go down to the final day of the Leics game, because that result was also blindingly obvious.

I still think that one reason for the late declaration last week was because we felt we wouldn't be able to get 10 wickets so the priority was to ensure Leicestershire didn't have any chance whatsoever in getting the runs.
