the young left arm spinner got hit out of the attack the night before.... but then Warks didn't throw their wickets away and bring the Northants spinners into the game

Turner hangs around for a few more overs, and then Bedders does the same, and I think we win that game last night. We got respectably close even though we fell apart at key moments. There were some excellent catches in the deep from the Northants fielders. The catch by Cobb on the edge of the circle to dismiss Mr Ned first ball was particularly impressive because it came at him really low down and like a tracer bullet

Yes, should have at least gotten closer after the start we had. Really unfortunate injury though and I suppose chasing down 220 doesn't happen very oftenI.
I think we'll be snookered if Turner is out for any length of time, looks as if some big scores are going to be needed to set or chase. Of the first 3 games I thought we had a good chance of winning the first 2 - it'll be tricky tomorrow at Edgbaston although I see Derbyshire almost chased down 200 against them last night.
Let's hope Stirling and Braithwaite don't get going

At last, I can applaud management on a decision. I rate Trev as an all-round cricketer, strikes me as a bit cocky which is perhaps not a bad fault in a T20 leader. Also suggests management are recognising that Borthwick has limitations as a captain.

Yes, I think it's a good opportunity for him. Maybe not today though - I thought we were too light on specialist T20 batsman, now that we're even lighter with Turner out , we replace him with a bowler!
We aaw the other night that Coughlin can be very effective with the bat, so can Carse but are they really equipped to bat at 5 and 6?
I just think it exposes the lack of depth in the squad; something I thought was apparent last year even with Lees and Potts here. Really surprised that nothing was done to strengthen it.

perhaps he doesn't like having to face 2 balls in an innings

It's also Blackwell again, I think.... I presume it is because when he's at the stumps the view of the pitch disappears... so Ben Raine will have to watch himself

before today he had taken no wickets, but that's changed now of course

my bet is that he'll better his previous best by 50 runs

what is the point in picking an extra bowler and then not bowling him.... here's an idea.... if you don't want the services of an extra bowler.... pick a *modded* batter!
