Yes, scores do seem to be going up this year, but then there have also been a lot of high scoring draws in the CC, so it might just be the nature of pitches prepared this year. Pitches have seemed so batter friendly this season that I don't believe that it isn't a conscious decision that's filtered down from the ECB.

Yes, there's a deposit change. Ollie Robinson said something to the effect of the top order having licence to go on all out attack because we bat all the way down the order. I take his point but imo , if one of the top 3 get going,, they need to bat deep into the innings if 200 is going to be no more than - or even below - par.

I'm giving it a miss too and judging by the start it might be just as well - we've managed some good scores on the back of a flying start in the power play but have started poorly in this game.

well, as it happens, I was down the allotment, the sky brightened just a little and it warmed up just a little too, so I went down.

I wish I hadn't, tbh. It was particularly turgid fare

I felt a bit sorry for the DJ who was doing his best with loud annoying blasts of music, but the 3 or 4 thousand people in the crowd seemed quite content to sit in stony silence. Perhaps, like me, they'd seen it all before. I gave up at the interval and came home It was turning colder again, the lights had to be put on (on a Sunday afternoon in June) and I didn't really fancy watching Durham die by a thousand cuts

If Durham win this, and who knows... they might, then they'll have done very well. The 154 they ended up with seemed a long way off after 17 overs... so who knows... maybe they've given themselve half a chance.

It's a very strange team when you're down to the bowlers once the 3rd wicket has fallen, and we became totally becalmed once the slow bowlers came on.... couldn't hit it off the cut strip... so maybe Borthwick will take a hatful of wickets?

More like taking the pace , colloquially speakiing. This club is heading for oblivion under Franklin's (lack of) leadership. How long is it since he last appeared in public? He does have the word "lead" in his job title.

Seems like odd captaincy again- we have our usual problems against spin and yet Trevaskis and Borthwick going at 6/7 an over only bowled 4 between them and Drissell didn't bowl at sll - again, whereas Carse bowled 4 expensive overs.

I think I might risk it, but we are playing Warks so another hammering could be on the cards

I tried the greek chuck wagon on Sunday. I had a chicken gyros, even though I had no idea what it was. It turned out to be a type of kebab and it was blooming lovely. I thoroughly enjoyed eating it, so I can heartliy recommend it. Not for me tonight, but I might avoid food on Friday and keep an apetite for the annual Lancs run fest and thrashing. At least that will give me something to look forward to

Buttler hasn't played for Lancs yet, of course, but I imagine he'll want to play us, given that he generally scores stacks of runs in hardly any time at all and it bolsters his averages for the rest of the season. Besides... who doesn't enjoy flaying very ordinary bowling to all parts?

It'll be interesting to see if Livingstone the barbarian plays tonight. He bowled one over only, early in the last game and didn't bat, so I'm wondering if he got injured. He'd be useful bloke for us to avoid

There's a scary gulf in quality between the two teams so unless the visitors implode I think our chances are close to zero!
A wicket- run out! - im the first over followed by a second one and a run rate of around 4 an over so far! I decided not to go, will make the Yorkshire game but that has all the makings of another debacle!
