Raine, Eckersley and Coughlin did well to get the total up to 140. Surely won't be enough but I thought we might not make it past 100!

I went down and came away at the end of our innings

Another hopeless, calamitous batting performance, somewhat ameliorated by the innings of Raine.

Lintott 0-17 turned batter after batter inside out. In one particular over Raine or Mr Ned (not sure which) was done by the turn first ball, keeper whips off the bails, not out. Second ball done by the turn, keeper whips off the bails, not out. Third ball danced down the pitch, done by the turn, keeper fluffed the take and he got away with it.

The side of the ground not covered in students sat (again) in stony silence. The students occupied a large chunk of the unique seat trapdoor stand, presumably unaware that they should probably sit very still and not move at all in that part of the ground

It's a shame we are so hapless, because there was a very good crowd and a car park absolutely full to the gunwhales. Presumably the large numbers of people who came will only make that mistake again if they were daft enough to buy a season ticket

all that being said.... it was good to get the fat lad first ball, and Raine is now picking up wickets to add to his runs, so he's having a very good game.

if we could only stop throwing wickets away in the PP and stop getting utterly bogged down to the spinner, then we might win more of these slow turgid snore fests

Tye doesn't get to bowl out........... again, but in a low scoring game, Borthwick gets to have 1 over for 12 runs. Perhaps they thought that because Lintott and Briggs (for 2 overs) and Trev all bowled for not too many that Borthwick would probably be an effective option to offer spin from both ends

Durham Cricket are dedicating their T20 Blast fixture against Lancashire Lightning this Friday, 10th June to the Chloe and Liam Together Forever Trust.

The club, joined by visiting Lancashire will pay tribute to Chloe Rutherford and Liam Curry, as the five-year anniversary of the Manchester Arena bombing was marked last month.

The Trust, which helps young people living in the North East to reach their potential in the fields of sport and performance, will fundraise towards continuing its inspiring legacy at the game on Friday, 10th June
