I thought Sarriegi looked decent and busy. Spain lacked a 9 all tournament, so I understand the change.

Ha.... Spansh media have been screaming for this sub stiker to play after scoring 12 goals in her last 12 internationals and the manager has refused to give her any game time at all until 2-1 down suddenly they need a number 9 style striker again...... go on and win the game for us. she had a few chances, they all slipped away.... but she's had no game time until the 100th minute of the QF. Press will hound him out of his job now, I reckon

It took England 80 minutes and some bad managerial decisions, but eventually they started to play the football that scored them 14 goals in the groups

cracking goal from Stanway... I knew she was going to feed the ball wide, the defenders knew she was going to do it, the keeper moved across in readiness for it.... and she thumped it into the back of the net instead. England hadn't done that all night. Top strike

Chloe Kelly was the difference for me. Just willing to press and make runs, it put more pressure on Spain's passing and spread the defenders out a little.

I was pretty pessimistic after the lionesses went a goal down. The way Spain were playing I couldn't see any way back other than a set piece or a dodgy pen. Chuffed though I am, I think Wiegman needs to buy the Spain manager a crate of his favourite wine, because I think his changes gave the game away.

sort of thing Sir Gareth would have done

I've not seen her play until this tournament and I wasn't that impressed with her until tonight. She was very good tonight.

Switching to 3 at the back and pushing Bright up front, was an indication of the level of England's desperation, with 10 mins to go, but it kind of worked in the end. I hope england don't get that desperate again

Just saw the highlights then...that winning strike was a ripper !

Big danger game out of the way for the Lionesses. Hope they can play with more freedom now and go all the way...

Also like to give a nod to an excellent save by Mary Earps when the score was still 1-0 : if that had gone in I doubt there would have been a way back. Hasn't had much comment in all the justified excitement of the goals ; but was a big moment.

From the lob?

Yes, an excellent save

Earps is so much better than Roebuck and along with Bright and Williamson has given us a pretty solid backbone.

ah well.... if you're going to cut your own throat, you might as well do it in style. The keeper mistake was not a surprise, They'd come close to giving the ball away in front of goal over and over again.

Woodwork played a large part in the game for both sides. 5 times, I think
