Kicking off here....A lot jubilant Moroccans with their car horns and flags, sadly a minority deciding to riot and set things on fire

Don't know about barely. After Costa Rica did Germany a huge favour, victory over Costa Rica should see Germany through unless Japan beat Spain.

Lots of wide open groups this world cup. It's been interesting so far.

Utterly disgraceful scenes in Brussels. A small minority spoil what should have been a celebration of a historic victory.

I will never understand the mentality that leads to that sort of action. Your team won, and you react with vandalism?

People seemingly more clever than me seem to say its campaigning against racial injustice in a horrendous inner city sh*t pit estate, from a downtrodden immigrant under-class.

Of course, I doubt many of these people have ever gone to Annessenses before, because the house prices are staggeringly expensive, its the nightlife district for the cool set, hosts the cities LGBTQI+ district, has two UNESCO World Heritage site inside it, and has for the last decade had billions of Euro's pumped into it to gentrify it.

Trying to excuse this as some grand political gesture against racism.... yeah ok, if its Moroccan immigrants in Prince de Liege burning cars, I can get that..... but this is happening in an area I can only dream about affording to live in.

I guess there is a lot I dont understand about celebrating like this, having been a migrant in a few countries. The idea of England knocking out Belgium, and me driving around screaming at passersby in my car they lost.... totally alien concept. Of course, there are historic reasons for discontents, but at times they feel artificial and needlessly entrenched. I have lived here for 5 years, and there will always be a little Belgian in my heart..... I like to see them do well. Or I think I can now say "us" to do well....

Been an absolute ripper, this Serbia v Cameroon game. Both teams are set up to attack, made for a great match.

Can see another goal in this. Serbia been the better team, but Cameroon have got into them at the back at stages

The best match of the tournament, followed by one ever better.

Korea will feel sick they lost that. Ghana were lethal in front of goal, Korea shelled chances all over the place. Lost count of how many times the ball bounced to Korean with a clear sight of goal in the box, and he took a needless touch before the space evaporated.

Can be a cruel game. South Korea didn't deservve to get nothing, but that is probably them done now. Didn't expect them to get out that group, but after two games, they have played very well, and can leave the tournament with pride intacted

Ghana 3-2 South Korea
Brazil 1-0 Switzerland

Did the Swiss have any shots on goal? Only one team seemed to be trying to win this.

France and Brazil are the only teams to have qualified so far.

I was rather hoping that the absence of Neymar would see Brazil play even better than normal, but sadly that wasn't the case. It was a pretty turgid match really. Switzerland didn't offer much and Brazil struggled to break them down. Brazil won't mind that though

That the match was settled by the ball hitting someone on the @rse, pretty much says it all
