It's Time to roll up our sleeves and make those big decisions once more.
Red Devil and Simon Harmer prevailed in 2022 but who can mix things up in the sixth season of this all-encompassing fantasy event?
A reminder of the rules:
If you are a preexisting player, you are only allowed to keep one player from 2022; the other 2 must be re-drafted.
Please state in the thread below who you want to keep and who you want to release.
Of course, you have the option of releasing both players. You do have the option to release a player AND reselect him in your draft.... but you have to hope that somebody doesn't snaffle them first.
If you didn't play last year, please let me know whether you plan to play in 2023.
You must send me a private message with your shortlist of six players, arranged according to preference, before 12 p.m. on December 27
The selection process will be held on the 27th.
On the 27th, I will select names at random from all interested parties, and on the basis of your lists, I will choose your representatives for the future year.
If we have enough competitors this year, we will revert back to 2 cricketers per player....however if it warrants it, we shall stick with 3.
You may alter your list as many times as you like up until noon on that Sunday, and you may choose any player anywhere in the world as long as that player has not already been retained.
They will receive points for all types of cricket they play, including The Hundred and T10 competitions.
Similar to previous year, I will provide the Independent Adjudicator - DFM my list of six candidates.
Points are as always:
Batting
1 point for every run scored
A batsman scoring 50 will receive a 20pt bonus, with another 10pts for every further 50 runs scored
(ie. 50 = 20pts, 100 = 30pts, 150 = 40pts, 200+= 50pts)
A batsman scoring at least 20 runs, will receive.....
10 bonus pts for scoring at a strike rate of 80-99
20 bonus pts for scoring at a strike rate of 100-149
30 bonus pts for scoring at a strike rate of 150-199
40 bonus pts for scoring at a strike rate of 200+
Bowling
20pts per wicket
20 bonus pts for a 3fer
30 bonus pts for a 5fer
A bowler who has bowled at least 3 overs will receive.....
10 bonus pts for an economy rate of <=6.0
20 bonus pts for an economy rate of <=5.0
30 bonus pts for an economy rate of <=4.0
(ie. an ER of 4.25 scores 20pts)
Fielding
10 points per catch or stumping
20 points per run out, or 10 points each, if two players share the responsibility
10 bonus points for 3 contributions with catches, stumpings or run outs.
Give me a shout if you want any help.
Cheers
Simon
