nowhere near there yet, Arthur. What happens over June and July will be key. Already a couple of bowlers are out injured and Potts getting called up by England is looking more likely with every seamer who ends up on the physio's table or under the surgeon's knife. For once we seem stable in the batting and the speed we score at is setting up the bowlers and giving them the time to win games, even when weather has a say, but, yes....... the season is certainly going better than any of us could have possibly expected

A good result for Durham - the draw not his wicket! - don't think anyone would have given Glamorgan a chance of getting away with a draw. They were 350 or so behind after the first innings.

I do wonder if the ECB pulled Robbo out of that Glamorgan game to rest him. For the second time in the season, he leaves the field with a mystery injury that turns out to be nothing a day later.... and they pulled him out the second game when the player wanted to play , and is on record saying there was no fitness issues.

I think it demonstrates how vital he is to England's plans, that any suggestion of a minor niggle brings with it an immediate intervention

and yet what's completely daft is that if there is a problem they need to find out about it now, not in the first ashes test. The kinds of niggle that bring these interventions are the sort of things that happen when a player hasn't played enough cricket. I'd expect a player who has been bowled and bowled and taken 14 wickets in his first game for a while to get a bit of cramp, maybe even a bit more discomfort than that, but England immediately panic a bit. Maybe it's just because they are having to rely on Sussex and Robinson himself managing the situation, rather than their own team of backroom staff and so they get a bit twitchy.
