Wicket for Robinson in his first over after a good couple of overs from Sowter and Parnell but I think that power play has done for us - need just about everything to go our way now.

Excellent recovery but fell away again in the last couple of overs. With the way Robinson was going I wonder if Parnell and Trevaskis should have just tried to give him the strike.
Hopefully we can have a good bowling power play - although that rarely happens!

Yes of course they should. Instead they both got clean bowled trying to knock the skin off the ball

Leics gave us an excellent demonstration of how to bowl and field in a power play. They were on it like a car bonnet. I think we hit 2 fours in the first 5 overs and one of those was off a bottom edge which squirted under what looked like a sort of gully fielder

They were 20 runs up after our PP effort.

and we need to work out how to score more than a handful of runs off the last 2 overs..... of course, Leics didn't score any runs off overs 19 and 20, so perhaps I'm over-thinking it

Being the fatalist that I am, I'd already decided by our 15th batting over that the only chance we had of winning today was if Robinson and Turner batted all the way to the end. Once Turner got out I was certain we wouldn't get anything like enough runs and, of course, we didn't

I'm probably going to have to stop going to these matches for the sake of the team. This is not the first time we've somehow managed to beat a good team only to lose to a modest team a couple of days later when I'm in the crowd. Apologies to Leicester.... they played very well today. I watch a performance like that and I struggle to comprehend how they managed to lose their first 5 matches. They were better than us at everything today, apart from the wicket keeping. If Swindell had been as competent behind the stumps as Robinson usually is that could have been an even heavier beating for us. The missed stumping off Lees in particular was very poor and the only reason we got to 40 in the PP was because 2 edges off Hull's final over flew straight through Swindell to the long stop boundary

Yes, poor display - our batting power play was bad and the bowling one a disaster. Thought we flirted with getting back into it but not enough runs to defend to be able to afford the inevitable expensive overs.
Agree that the Turner dismissal was key - if Parnell and Trevaskis gave the strike to Robinson he could easily have got us past 180.
Thought Luke Robinson did well, first impressions were good ones.
Presumably Turner has an injury stopping him bowling- has not sent down many overs in this competition.
I might have been in the sun too long but wonder if it's worth bringing Borthwick in - if he'd been in with Robinson at the end he'd have probably been a good foil.
Still, 3 from 5 is a better start than I thought possible and it was a rare poor start with the bat.
Other thing is I saw Coggers in the ground - no crutches or limping! Having said that he wouldn't be the answer to the bowling issues...not the most reliable T20.bowler, good batter though.

I was happy that we'd get to 180 last Monday and we didn't get close, so while I thought 180 was potentially still on today, I had no confidence that we'd get there even with Robinson still in. We ended up with the exact same score

and you've definitely been spending too much time in the sun if you think Borthwick is the answer

Yes. I think 180 is probably a par score - and with the bowling issues we're likely going to have to make above par scores.
It continues to baffle me how de Leede , a one day specialist who did well in the last World Cup ,seems far more suited to red ball county cricket.

Interesting interview with Campbell who said he thought we had enough runs and put the defeat down to poor bowling.

tbf to him, in recent years, I'd have given us a chance of defending 168..... but not this year. We have too many leaky bowlers who just can't be relied upon. We miss Potts. Even Trev seems to have gone backwards this year both with ball and bat

I did like the look of Robinson L. Just a pity that we kept misfielding boundaries off his bowling.

Funniest moment for me was Naseem Shah diving after a ball that flew past the square leg umpire. I think he saw it late, but wanted to show willing because the ball was pretty much past him before the started the slowest dive in the history of cricket. He sort of went down in three stages like an Argentina player in the box hoping to cheat his way to a penalty at the FIFA world cup. Not really fair on Argentina, though...... they practice cheating in the box so would probably make a better fist of it than Shah
