hmm... we win with an over to spare and yet our run rate fell from a pre-match 0.837 to 0.787

must be one of the ECB's new rules regarding Durham

anyway... we go third, not second, behind Warks whose run rate increased to 0.867 even though they weren't playing (I just made that bit up)

I've never understood how it works!

Sowter 9 wickets for 29 runs in the 2 matches against Northants. Exceptional.
In the post-match interview he said the reason we kept going for big shots towards the end was because there might be times when we need to do that to chase down big totals. May be but it just threatened to backfire tonight - although on the other hand we won with an over to spare thanks to a big hit.
Emmerson mentioned Notts have won 7 in a row against us -law of averages must mean we're due for a win- not a prediction!
