we probably need a big score, because the attack of Raine, McAlindon, Toole, Parkinson and Trev, looks about as weak a line up as I can remember. Spinners are going to have a big role to play so lets hope the pitch breaks up.

The kookaburra offers little help for seamers, does it offer more for spinners?

Apparently Patel's stint has ended- I thought he'd be here until the end of the season but maybe that wasn't the plan.
I'd not heard of Toole either - seems as if he is a Kiwi who has been playing for Shotley Bridge and drafted in on a short term deal. You'd think - given the conditions, ball and our attack- that a huge first innings total is an absolute must. If we have wickets in hand going into the last hour today it will definitely not be the time for any funky declarations imo

I assumed Patel was here until the end of July, because that was the George plan. That one match signing of Parky makes more sense now

It was baking hot this morning and we made hay, so well done to Leics for managing to bowl so few overs in that session.
