In terms of the CT in 2 years time, it's looking likely that England will need SL to beat BD. That way a good win over the dutch will see England occupy 8th place going into the final round of matches. NL won't beat India (unless India let them) and it's hard to see BD beating Australia (unless Australia let them), meaning that defeat to Pakistan may not be terminal, unless they get thumped (which is entirely possible). If BD beat SL, then England will probably have to win both their remaining matches

I'm not taking a win over the dutch for granted, you understand.... I think an England loss is entirely possible, maybe even quite likely given the terrible place they find themselves in

Largely agree with all that. England have been absolutely awful in this event (though I actually thought this last was a slight improvement ! Low bar I know) but if they can possibly put the rubbish behind them mentally and play anywhere near their ability they should be able to beat the Dutch. Which really ought to be enough to edge out them and Bangladesh barring NRR problems. Wouldn't risk any money betting on them though !
