I see Stokes was in and out in a flash. I had a feeling that would be the case. I nearly said at 12.45 that if we lose another wicket in the next 5 mins we'd probably be 4 down at lunch

will we have to worry about Lyon on a day 4 pitch? probably not

This is another match where we have ceded the initiative by choosing to bowl first. We only have 8 bowling points from the 5 matches where we have actually played, so I imagine there's a lesson in there somewhere. I know there are a lot of reasons for that.... div 1, roads, kookaburras at al, but the fact remains that we have found first innings wickets rather elusive this season, so I hope this is at least being considered when making decisions at the toss

I agree. I thought bowling first here was a good call but I've bern proven wrong. As you say our best chance is batting first.

It was our strength last year..... bat first, bat quickly, take charge of the game and we seem to have forgotten that. I know that this is a step up in quality, but I haven't met anyone or read anything by anyone who questions our ability to compete in div 1. Sometimes bowling first can seem to be the safe option

Yes, barring a miraculous turnaround this game is gone and we could find ourselves in a tricky position because so far there are no obvious relegation candidates- I was hoping a couple of teams would be looking very shaky by now but it's not the case.
Our bowling has been ineffective- conditions a factor of course on some roads- but, despite some fine - until today! - rearguard actions, the batting looks a bit vulnerable. Lees, Bedingham and Robinson are div 1 quality but I'm not so sure about the rest of that top 6 - I'm not including Stokes because he obviously is good enough but he's bound to be rusty.
