I suppose, that we haven't taken a clutch of wickets this morning, is a sign that perhaps there are no demons in the pitch and as long as we bat sensibly and well, whenever Lancs press the declare button, that we might be able to salvage something from the game. My instinct, though, tells me that we won't get anywhere near, despite Lancs scoring freely. I think the only thing that would prevent a 3 day finish is Lancashire timidity. They may decide to bat on until tea or just before, when they probably only need another 30 or 40 runs

He's captain too, so might fancy staying around for the chance of a doubler, which would suit us tbh

Boycott would bat all day and blame his bowlers if they didn't get the job done on day 4

well this is very frustrating. 88 needed with 5 wickets in hand and suddenly we lose 4 wickets for 8 runs

88 still needed and we are on toast. It was looking really hopeful half an hour ago

Been out all day. Expected we'd lose but not like that! Surely that should have been a remarkable win with the Bedingham/Robinson stand!
Too many careless mistakes, getting out to Lyon would be understandable but no excuse falling apart against their lesser bowlers.

Bedingham leading run scorer in div 1 averaging 87, Robinson averaging 83. And that's with the top order- apart from Lees who is doing OK - misfiring!

Bedingham and I were disappointed by the umpires decision of the caught behind. Didn't touch the ball. Had he and Robinson stayed together they would have had a tricky spell with the new ball to negotiate but no bowler was troubling either of them. They batted the whole morning session with no problem. When Potts came to the crease he also looked good until the run out.

After the ball was bowled he was prepared for the next ball and couldn't believe he was given out. I don't think he is a player who wouldn't walk if he nicked it. Looking at the replay very carefully I didn't even see it being close.

Somehow I expected Lyon on the 4th day to get a 5fer but 32-3-95-2 one of which was Bedingham wasn't the case. He was very playable.

I've just had a look at it. Hard to tell from the highlights, but yes, he clearly didn't think he'd got anything on it. Visible anger rather than disappointment when he realised the finger had gone up. Quite a sequence of emotions... first disbelief, then anger and then a reproachful glance back at the umpire

That dismissal was unfortunate. Still think we should have won though and surely that shot from Stokes was not required in those circumstances!
