Admit I was shocked - though probably shouldn't have been. After all it was only that Maxwell miracle that saved Australia when they met in the 50 over WC - and perhaps a bit of Afghan panic contributed then ; which it evidently didn't this time.

Big chance for Afghanistan now : beat Bangladesh heavily enough and they could be in a position to oust India on RR , should they lose to Australia. Obviously Australia have to win or they're dead . ( Barring , of course , a Bangladesh win ; which would be a horrible anti-climax for Afghanistan ! )

Fascinating finish to what looked on paper a fairly clearcut group.

it's been an odd competition though..... terrible playing conditions and lousy weather, so that will surely have contributed to that stat. Still..... fair play to them for adapting to the conditions better than everybody else.
