The whole Sunday thing throws me out

Terrible start. I presume we lost the toss. We reverted back to Borthwick opening with a mere at 3. 8-2 when I got there.

Greenish tinge to the pitch and we’ve left out Parky. Bedders was looking comfy, but he’s just played and missed, so fingers crossed

Bedders left that and it clipped the top of leg stump

He suddenly played and missed a couple and had gone to play another couple and quickly drop his hands, so I’m guessing the bounce is a bit uneven

39-3 and we’re in a bit of trouble

If ever there was a time you wanted to win the toss. Although I think conditions might stay the same throughout the game.

I think so. 250 might be a very good score. Everything about batting looks hard today. It was unfortunate to lose Robbo in that last over, but his middle stump got flattened. It shouldn’t have been the last over, but the England mentality kicked in and stokes made damned sure there wasn’t time to get another over in. He stood there talking to Clark for a good 2 minutes with every worcs player at their marks the whole time. I’m surprised the umpires didn’t intervene

It could have been worse, but just as stokes was finally beginning to time the ball a little and just beginning to look as though he was settling in, he nicked off, but the slipper put it down.

You can see that the bowlers are really bending their backs when bowling at stokes. They all want his scalp

Tea has been taken. Why? It was 3.15 when the last wicket fell. We’ve had 48 overs. What’s this tea nonsense? Surely we get 14 overs at them, then take tea and make them start again, don’t we? Who decides it’s tea? Play is likely to have to go until 7pm, so we have a three and a half hour session? I find that astonishing
