there's a few of those around

Part of me thinks that counties might be preparing rubbish pitches to try and get the matches over quickly, so the players can get an extra couple of days off in the midst of a packed T20 schedule that everyone hates

Potts and Siddle at 4&5 for Durham. I guess two nightwatchers, but they haven't been in long enough to have been there overnight.

no play yet at the Riverside

Potts and Siddle did what what 3 batters couldn't do last night and kept Nathan Smith out

241 partnership for fifth wicket for Yorks.

Durham v Worcs looks interesting. And Stokes batting at 9!

Jordan Cox is out of the Surrey v Essex match after being taken to hospital last night with stomach pains and having his appendix removed

might be a title defining appendix because Essex are having to play with a 10 man batting line up for the entire match and he is their top scorer this year

To the Durham boys....

Is there something wrong with the wicket at CLS at the moment? Durham 140/9, Worcs 110, Durham 190..... I think last game Somerset made 80 all out by memory too in a low scoring affair. Is this bad play, or has the groundsman produced a few unplayable wickets?

You're right about the recent games. Not sure what the reason is - overhead conditions maybe a factor in the current game but don't think they were against Somerset and, as you say, it was over inside 2 days.

Broad and Sanderson put up some resistance, but on a tough surface it was always a tough chase....

Sussex with another win... Yorkshire absolutely battering Derbyshire though, so the gap on bonus points will close.

Encouraging for Yorkshire as the test players have been withdrawn now. The one question for them is without Root/Brook can they continue .Guess Bairstow is coming back with a career to save too, so maybe might start to smash a few runs in Div 2

we had downpours in the days leading up to the Somerset game, so I put that match down to lack of prep time, but there was no such excuse for this one. I can only assume that a green top must have been an executive decision, because the pitch had the same green tinge as the pitches either side of it. In the end it cost us, because we lost the toss and got by far the worst of the weather conditions.
