Yeah to be fair I may have been a bit harsh just lacks a bit of nip which is required especially when pitches get flatter...this time of year he's useful

Sussex's luck runs out. After several good shouts, they lose 4 wickets in a blink of an eye. Somerset have bowled well

Three batting points for Northamptonshire after last week's dismal performance. Good century fron Saif Zaib and an excellent 92 from James Sales, although he will be kicking himself for his method of dismissal. Pitch looked very flat and I'm not sure what mind-altering substances Keato Jennings was on when he made the decision to insert the opposition.

Highly impressive performances so far from Sussex. Been the better side in both games, and this one looks over if weather permits it or a miracle happens.

Rew looks very good, played very well. Compact technique, which I like. Simple, still at the crease...maybe it won't translate to higher pace, but was very good today.

Won't hurt his chances of a cap

Really not getting John Simpson's captaincy this year. Last week Sussex batted needlessly on to the point they killed the game, when they could have at least given themselves 20-30 extra overs with some urgency without too much extra risk of losing or their innings imploding. Today, we now have the target over the largest ever chased score in English FC history, and not only are we still batting, but batting like its Day 1 and we have just lost 3 quick wickets.

If you feel the unnecessary need to set a ridiculous, academic target for Somerset, then at least do it hitting some bloody runs quickly. Scratching around going nowhere at 45SR is literally exactly what Somerset want us to be doing.

If Sussex don't win this game and end like Somerset 1 short tomorrow, then I'd seriously consider replacing him. Seems to have completely lost his bottle this year
