Great partnership and wonderful to see Gay get that century after a tricky start to the season. I agree with you, unless we can get a big lead it's going to be tough to win given the weather forecast and some bowling issues. A fine day though because I had a feeling there would be a clatter of wickets. As you say, there are some out of form players to come so there's a distinct possibility of it happening tomorrow.

Game is just drifting now. Yorks are in no hurry at all and we are a bowler down because Coughlin can't bowl, seemingly (way, I knew that already )

Some abdominal injury to Coggers apparently. If the weather allows enough play it could get interesting.

it's one of those odd forecasts where there is a fairly low chance of rain all day.

I watched Rhodes batting on the live feed today. I was having a cuppa while some paint dried. A cuppa was all his innings lasted. He looked all at sea. No surprise at all when he got out. Looked like a walking wicket

I watched Wharton bat for the first time.................
He looked very obviously like a totally front footed player and he literally left everything that would have required playing off the back foot. The only time he was tempted into playing a pull shot, he looped it to McKinney who was patrolling the square leg boundary

Injury jinx again. Seems as if Doggett is the latest one. Will Gidman fielding- might be bowling in the next game!

from the little bits I've seen on the live feed in between coats of paint, we look toothless with ball in hand. Ben Raine will keep plugging away, but Potts seems to have lost his spark atm... won't get anywhere near the England team with his current form. Injuries to players in every match and a middle order that can't buy a run. That Pottsy has the best run average out of everyone pretty much says everything about our batting below the top 4

The rain, if and when it comes might just be a blessing, because winning this match looks less likely with every over bowled

where's the spinner? I just can't work out what we're playing at. At this rate we'll be a candidate for relegation, not a candidate for a top 3 finish. We need to go back to basics.... if a top order batsman like Rhodes isn't trusted to bat at 4 in the absence of Bedders, then he should probably be playing in the seconds for a bit until he gets some form back. Clarky got dropped for the return of Bedders, but he's doing better than anyone else in this middle order. And we aren't playing a spinner.... did we do that at all last year when we were cementing ourselves back in div 1?

Agreed. The plan last year always involved a spinner. Hoping for rain because if it doesn't come there's a chance this could go wrong. Probably not enough time for a total disaster but if Yorkshire were somehow to feel safe with a bit of time left I can envisage a clatter of wickets!

you'd imagine that these were good conditions for bowling, but we've only taken 1 wicket and that was a Hill brain fade trying to smack Ackermann out of the ground and lashing it straight to McKinney

Looks like Coggers might be out for a while.... which hardly ever happens, of course

Doggett apparently rolled his ankle and his absence has been described as 'precautionary', so hopefully he'll be available for the next game
