I assumed McK and BR would be playing after the fallow week, but it's good news about Bedders. I'm not fussed about Carse playing, especially if we have to drop Clark to fit him in.... although we might not get a choice about playing him. With Bedders back we might have to drop one of Rhodes and Gay to accommodate Clark and Carse.... unless we have to rest Potts, of course

we batted first and posted 190-8, including 15 fours. Hants chased and had racked up 10 fours in the first 18 overs. It looks as though we'll lose with around a dozen overs to spare.

After the first game, where we looked like a pretty decent side, we've pretty much lurched from one hammering to another. We can't seem to score runs quickly enough unless it's Bates doing it.... which she hasn't since the first game. Today, Hollie A, who has been our most consistent performer, hit 2 fours in 66 balls faced for 25 @ 2 runs per over. Now that's fine if she's anchoring the innings whilst others bat positively around her, but (Bates aside) no-one seems capable of upping the tempo

we have scored 952 runs from 1282 balls... just over 4 an over

we have conceded 1121 runs from 1255 balls.... just over 5 an over

so we aren't going to win too many matches like that. Getting Lauren Filer back might help

Looks as though we’re playing on pitch 17 or 18, so it looks like a day under the upper tier of the County Durham stand, sitting in the shade with a cooling breeze coming from the river. The perfect way to watch cricket

Well it’s taken a while to get her first wicket, but what a rerun catch that was from Villiers. Hit back at her like a tracer bullet and the ball hardly got off the ground. A brilliant diving catch

We are busy throwing this match away with some poor bowling and poor fielding. For most of the innings Warks were t going to get anywhere near 200 runs, but here they are eyeing up 230 or maybe 240. All the discipline of the first 35 or 38 overs has gone out of the window. Were bowling rubbish,we couldn’t catch a cold and we certainly couldn’t stop a bus

It got a bit twitchy when Bates got stumped off a wide, but Villiers got us home reasonably comfortably, supported by Grace Thompson, after the obligatory mid innings wobble

Phoebe Turner might have had a shocker today with the ball, with the bat and with her fielding, but she's still 3rd in the overall wickets league. I suppose these things happen from time to time.

A good day for Mady Villiers with ball and bat and in the field with one smart catch and another belter. Swings and roundabouts

No swings and roundabouts for Bess Heath. Poor with the bat...... again... always gets out to poor shot choices. Took a couple of good low catches early doors and another standing up for the seamer, but also missed a couple of chances when standing up... I just couldn't tell whether they were dropped catches or missed stumpings.... could have been either

Fingers crossed that Bates is okay for the next game. It was worrying watching the game stop while she received some attention from the physio towards the end of her innings

Warks fielders hit the stumps direct from throws 4 times. I've yet to see any of our attempts at a run out go anywhere near the stumps in the 3 games I've watched

4 times! Presumably this is something they work on. Maybe we should too

The Essex women's scorecard looks remarkably similar to the first match. 178 all out

our reply is going rather differently though. 3 down early doors and now going through a rebuilding phase. Not a challenging target, though, as long as we don't start to flap.
