I was reading, earlier this season, that this year's kookaburras have been produced with a more prominent seam

If that's the case, then I wonder if this is Australias response to Key's bright idea about forcing the K ball on county cricket as Ashes prep, or an attempt to replicate the Dukes ball for the 2027 ashes
