Surrey game abandoned. we are 2 points behind Lancs in 4th, but they have 2 games left against the bottom 2 sides, so we will find it hard to finish higher than 5th.

Not sure what happens with the men tonight. Normally I'd think we have to beat Leics to stay in contention for a top 2 finish, but actually a NR here might just suit us, because our final game is against Northants who are the side most likely to stop us finishing second, so 2 points tonight thwarts Leics and I think guarantees us a QF slot. Lose tonight, but beat Northants on Friday might still get us a top 2 finish, but if Warks thrash Derbys to within an inch of their life they might knock us down to 3rd. 2 points tonight at least means beating Northants on Friday will secure a home QF. 2 points tonight will still get us a QF slot even if we lose on Friday, but tbh, nobody is going to progress to finals day out of a QF away to either Surrey or Somerset.

of course, a loss tonight brings Leics back into the equation who have a big NRR deficit, but 2 big wins might fix that for them

It would be the sensible thing to do.

Maths is not my strong point but I think Notts losing tonight means we are likely to finish in the top 4 regardless of what happens tomorrow. Leicestershire could draw level on points if they win and we lose but our NRR is much better....so it would require a catastrophic defeat to Northants ( a definite possibility) and a resounding Leicestershire win to keep us out of the top 4.
Forecast is once again a bit iffy.

When Northants posted 200 I was a bit worried, but Clark and Lees have got us to 168 in 12 overs.... both rollicking along at 200 strike rates

Wasn't remotely expecting that. Chasing 200 was something ai thought would be well beyond us but to do it with wickets in hand and 21 balls left is remarkable.
