Think the home QF was essential, Hampshire favourites imo but we stand more of a chance than an away QF against a top 2 side.
Suppose tonight showed how unpredictable the format can be but, as ever, the problem will be stringing together 3 wins against top sides. Surely can't happen but we'll worry about that in ...September!

Is it certain that Vince will be around come Sept? He might be away in the CPL or something, for all I know

he missed Hampshire's last match because he was playing in a legends match against Pakistan with Pudsey, Phil Mustard, Dimi M, Sir Alistair, Eoin Morgan and Ian Bell, so hardly seems fully committed to Hants

incidentally, Phil scored 58, took 2 catches and a run out

You might be right, am sure there is at least one franchise competition that either overlaps the hundred or is played after it.

disappointing to lose to Essex yesterday, but a 5th placed finish was better than I was expecting

after a wobbly start to the comp our bowling has improved somewhat, but we simply don't have 160 runs in us. Something we need to work on for next year. The batting has been generally rather disappointing all season

What a bizarre day. 22 wickets, I know Somerset scored quickly but there must be something up with that pitch for Drissell to get 5 wickets on day 1.

Somerset took all their wickets with seamers and we took ours with spinners

weird, but i had no hopes of a good result for us in this fixture. I usually criticise Somerset heavily for the pitches they prepare, but after the one we prepared last year, it's hard to be holier than thou.

35 wickets in about a day and a half! Another 50 runs might have made it interesting.
Think we're getting into trouble now with Yorkshire and Worcestershire doing well...and we've got Surrey next.
