Think it's good to have these two sides in the final, I'm rooting for SA but it should be a terrific occasion! Sadly I shall miss it as I'm working nights over the weekend so hopefully il be asleep while the game is on!

Suppose it says something about short form cricket that upsets do happen ; but after India struggled through the rounds it was hard to see them suddenly producing the biggest run chase in Women's ODI to knock off the supposedly invincible Aussies. Talk about turning up at the crucial moment !

Aussies apparently didn't help themselves by dropping easy chances. And maybe wilted a bit under pressure as the Indian charge materialised ? They are human after all then ...

So a final between two non-favourites. In a way one might suggest that both of them have already "played their final" in getting here , with each reversing the results from the rounds in spectacular fashion. But one of them has to win and I have no clue which it might be : hopefully in a match that is tightly contested to end what has been a largely enjoyable WC (except for the constant Sri Lankan washouts !)

Sounds like a fair thing, imo. Sutherland is an immense talent and has many years left at the top, if things go her way. I see her as the pre-eminent all rounder for Aus, with McGrath approaching the latter stages of her career.

Of course, she probably has a few connections in Cricket Australia. That won't hurt her chances.
