This what I mean. Supersized score->chasing side bats like idiots->lose by a huge amount.

The only way this is not a thrashing is if Zimbabwe don't try to win.

Hetmyer was dropped on 9, I see. In the deep, but not a difficult catch. The game might have been right there

Same fielder dropped him again off a skyer on 70, but the damage was done anyway

4 Super Eight Games... One washout and three one sided matches. Did we have all the close contests in Round One ?

West Indies going rather well up to now : they seem to have a fairly uncomplicated game plan of hitting lots of sixes rather than worrying about the odd dot ball : and this probably isn't a bad philosophy for t20. Be interesting to see how they fare against SA and India.

Just one match each day now and all in a very inconvenient time for my own zone. Sleep management will be tricky ...

It's a decent enough plan for games in India. Now that the pitches are deteriorating in SL, a bit more game management seems to be the order of the day

Hopefully England's super 8 games being in SL will suit them better (without wishing to jinx anything today). England seem to have a better bowling unit than batting, so tricky pitches might give them more of a chance of reaching the SF's. Most of their India fixtures were against associate teams, so they got away with their sub par batting far more than they would (and indeed, did) have against the big boys. If they do reach the semi's, then they will have achieved as much as this team had any right to achieve and anything beyond that is a bit of a free hit, because to say that this England team has some limitations is a huge understatement

Pakistan opt to field first. 2nd ranked team versus 6th ranked team. That too after playing lower level teams and the full sides playing their B teams when their series clash with IPL or main players being rested by others. This is the worst Pakistan team ever I have seen. Nothing about the cricketing systems is right. Player-to-player England are well ahead of skillset as well. Pakistan can cause upset though but England would beat this Pakistan team 8 out of 10 times.

Shaheen who is woefully out of form is back. Abrar Ahmed who bowled like run machine in big match against India is still kept out. He should have been back against this England team. Yet again, too many all-rounders for Pakistan, but the same can also be siad about England. Still Enland are much better in player-to-player comparison.

Saim needs to improve his batting. Think ODI format suits him more.
