I'm looking at the Surrey game and I'm wondering if a pitch that plays like a road with no visible sign of problems for batters after 4 full days is grounds for a poor pitch points deduction?

I guess the answer is probably either, 'don't be silly' or 'possibly but not if it's Surrey'

A pitch giving absolutely no assistance to the bowlers even after 4 days wear and tear ought to be rated the same as a pitch where 25 wickets fall on the first day or one which offers excessive turn on day 1

It's supposed to be a contest between bat and ball

Just like twice v Sussex last week, Warwickshire's top order has been blown away for nowt again. They made runs against Surrey first game, but Surrey also made 800/14 over the game, so safe to say it was a pancake.

Not sure Dan Mousley at 3 is going to be a long term plan that pays off, he averages under 30.

If Rob Key is serious about re-embracing county performances, then he can show it by rewarding Jamie Porter with an England cap. I reckon in my lifetime Porter, along with James Hildreth and Ali Brown, standout as players who have done everything humanly possible to make their case, but have been unfairly ignored.

He might be 31 or 32 now, but the next worthwhile team project will be winning the home Ashes. Few bowlers can claim to have been consistently destructive in English conditions as Porter. I
