after assuming all day that I wouldn't be going tonight, it's suddenly become less cold, less dark and the wind has dropped. Is it great? No way Jose, but it's a lot less unpleasant than it was and the fact that it is still a little on the gloomy side shouldn't really matter under the lights, so I might go after all

They struggled with the bat. I just hope that the difference between the two teams isn’t James Minto’s 0-25 off 2 overs in a low scoring game

Northants march on unbeaten, 5 from 5, and we slide to another defeat chasing a very modest total

at the start of the comp Graham Clark passed Phil Mustard to become our highest scorer of T20 fifties. Today he passed him for the most number of ducks

Campbell wasn't happy about the Yorks defeat, so I doubt he'll be sanguine about this one

This is beginning to feel like almost (almost) every T20 campaign we've had since its inception. I left at half time happy that we'd either rollock home or lose catastrophically. I did this v Leics. That was a thumping win, this was the catastrophic defeat.... chasing nothing. Not the same level as sliding from 71-1 to 117 all out chasing 124 v Northants, but not a million miles away either

Another tricky surface but big advantage in winning the toss and that total really should have been chased down.
Again wickets falling in clusters and that wicket first ball immediately got the alarm bells ringing.
Then we got into a position where we were in control- 2 wickets straight away put paid to that.
Think this campaign is in danger of imploding. Maybe it already has!

yes, I think it has. I had hoped that 2 defeats was just a blip, but this is now looking terminal for the competition. I think we'll lose to Lancs on Tuesday, because suddenly even small targets have started to look like massive challenges.

Maybe we need to start batting first, because we look like a side that couldn't chase anything down.

The fielding has been good, really good, I have no complaints in that regard, but that big Neesham shaped hole in the middle order that we talked about, is looking bigger with every match

No, I'd have gone if it was in the afternoon- although if it had been we'd have got points because it would have been rained off!

well, this is very frustrating

It keeps on raining hard for a couple of minutes every half hour or so. It has been doing this all day

The women's match has already been delayed and the sky has big blue gaps, but also heavy black cloud. Who knows what will happen this afternoon.

The covers are on, the groundstaff are patrolling the covers, the players are out warming up, but you may as well toss a coin to find out if there'll be any meaningful play soon.

I had planned to go down, but having successfully dodged umpteen heavy bursts of rain already today, I'm not sure I want to do any more of it

Weather has been all over the place. Alternating between rain and sun!
They have had the toss and we've decided to bat - not sure that's a good idea even with our failures to chase down totals. Those defeats were down to poor batting, chasing should have been an advantage in the two previous defeats!
