They were excellent for the first 3/4 of the match, but then let it go a bit. Understandable to go off the boil with the match won. But they'd better not do than in the semi.

Pretty much guaranteed to top the group given their NRR, so even a loss in their final game should avoid a semi v Australia. Although SA have had England's number recently in knockouts...

West Indies still going to qualify second - they won't lose to Ireland. Defending champs NZ need to beat England and hope for Ireland to pull off a miracle. SL need to beat Scotland, the same miracle Ireland win, and a big NRR turnaround...

I'm hoping (be careful what you wish for) that India beat SA to the other SF spot, because I think England will beat India but I'm not sure about SA

plus, if india do make it to 2nd, they'll have had to beat Australia to do it and that might mean they've played their best game before they get to the SF

Not totally unrealistic for NZ to beat England and for WI to give Ireland an enormous hiding to put England in second, so there's still work to do

Only saw that game on "extended highlights" today : but had the impression that England relaxed a bit once they had broken the back of the West Indies batting - much as they seemed to against Scotland. As bfl says , not a habit they would want to carry into the semi , whoever the opponent is.

Batting was impressive. Assuming NSB will be back for the semi , going to be a tough call to leave someone out but I'd imagine Dunkley will be most vulnerable despite her fifty the other day. Nice problem to have...

Ireland do the unthinkable and comfortably beat the west indies, with 11 balls to spare. Brilliant result for them... well done!

but it's meant that NZ have metaphorically had to send taxis to the airport to bring their players back. Suddenly they aren't on their way home, suddenly they can qualify for the SF's through their better NRR than WI, if........ if..... they beat England later

Strange that there is a three day gap between the two semi-finals.

This looks to work to Australia's benefit - I can only assume that when the BCCI did up the schedule for the cup, they assumed that India would be in this semi, and sought to work it in their favour.
