Very good start. Bowlers did well and, after a dodgy start with the bat, Stokes got the job done. First List A hundred for Durham since 2014 - and first appearance since then!

I watched the match highlights earlier

We couldn't run singles toward the back end of the innings, because BS could barely run for anything, the cramping was so bad. He collapsed to the ground, bringing up his fifty, with a fortuitous four from the edge of the bat on his way down. He raised his bat for the fifty whilst lying prone on the deck.

Not sure why he had such problems, but the medical team will have work to do. Hopefully it won't mean him missing any games

Seems to be a lot of cramp around- Shubman Gill really struggled during the ODI series. Must have something to do with the weather.

Campbell confirms that the plan is for BS to play for us next season alongside global T20s. They plan to sit down and work out contract details

It's quite amusing that he's playing in the One Day Cup instead of The Hundred! He was on the back pages of newspapers so has given the ODC a lot of publicity.

I recently read an article (can't find it now) about England's highest global profile player choosing not to be a part of the ECB's new biggest event. His 108 for Durham, being in contrast to the centiball scores and scoring rates which have begun in fairly dismal fashion

That might change next year, of course, but it would be pretty funny if he played in the Blast for Durham and then opted not to play in the centiball.

I still don't understand why we didn't offer him a better contract than the one we did offer, tbh. Of all the young talent we had, he struck me as the one most likely to force his way into the side first
