Retired at 36, a good age for a pace bowler. A useful limited overs bowler, but too inconsistent at Test level for one who got so many chances.

English World Cup winner in ODIs and T20s, and there aren't many of those.

Six, apparently.

To be fair had he not had so struggle for rhythm due to all the injuries I think he would have been a very good test match bowler gutted for him to be honest

Agree with this. His form was a bit "mixed" , fair to say ; but at his best he was highly effective. And I reckon he often created pressure which resulted in success for the bowler at the other end.

Sensible time to quit as England do have a squad of high pace options* at present so unlikely to have been calling on him.

*At least until they all get injured

Also if he was fit he is still easily the quickest bowler we would have.....regularly above 90mph...archer does it on occasion but is definitely slower post injury problems...and the others are capable of touching it but not regularly

Harry Brook has said Bryson Carse needs time away from international cricket...assuming definitely won't be seeing him at all over the winter then
