Renshaw at 5 is baffling....Maddinson supposedly good player of spin so opening and renshaw moved down...so does that mean renshaw misses out when green is fit again? Surely not when he only came back in the side recently against Bangladesh?! Baffling from the Aussie thinktank

Durban has always had a reputation for taking spin. If SA were going to pick two spinners anywhere, it was always going to be there.

Should be an advantage for Australia to bat first... but not looking that way right now.

Whenever I see his name I can't help thinking of Renfield, the insect consuming minion in Dracula. Renshaw is from North Yorks, so might be familiar with Whitby Abbey where the prince of darkness arrived in UK.

He tends to shuffle around...but opened in the recent series against Bangladesh...had green been fit I assume he would have opened here and Maddinson wouldn't have played however I don't agree with renshaw batting 5 here and Maddinson opening

I didn't see much of it, but Renshaw and Cummins have righted the ship a little with their 60-odd run unbroken partnership.

A decent amount of time was lost due to bad light, but SA only managed to bowl 65 overs. Did bad light save them, in a couple of ways?

Strangely, they won't start any earlier today to make up for lost time - but the middle session will be extended by half an hour. Which will give them the opportunity to go off for bad light with an hour and a half lost instead of the usual hour that Durban seems to always produce.
