I can imagine after the horror that the tall bowlers endured, that Tremlett, Finn and Rankin will welcome a critical exposition of the ashes tour.

Tremlett took 4-120 in his only test, not sure where this idea of him having a disaster comes from.

Judging from the contents of this thread, which will probably go on for a long time, KP is getting the sort of public reaction, good or bad, that he would want.

Of course, the debate, like so many, takes one nowhere and will eventually die out, to be replaced by new issues.

The fact remains that KP is unlikely to play for England again, certainly whilst the present establishment is in place.

KP will probably make a fair bit of money, he may or may not get sued for libel, which may, or may not be settled out of court.

As for establishing the truth - well that's a pretty pointless and impossible exercise, but no doubt there'll be a lot more column inches filled.

The only truth is we lost 5-0, one player went home, one retired and the fall-out was an undignified shambles.

Carry on chaps....

As for the other interesting bits AC refers to, KP's exploits on the field have already been well documented and also covered by huge amounts of video and footage easily accessible, far more than those of players of past eras - so I'll give his book a miss I think.

Couldn't disagree more, KJ. Review, reflection and transparency is exactly what is needed, and if KPs book is a small step in that path then it should be welcomed.

The media are getting excited about Roy Keane's book now. Let's hope the KP one isn't overshadowed by it.

If that had been done in the appropriate manner all well and good, but it wasn't. Now all you have is a public slanging match. The time for a proper 'review' has passed, the opportunity lost and there have been significant changes in both management and players since.

If it's your judgement that what is happening now is a sensible part of a review process well good luck.

I feel sorry for those in the dressing room who have kept quiet and avoided getting involved such as Bell and Bresnan. The journo's will be more interested in what those say than those mentioned in the book. If they seem to support KP in any way their career's might suffer. Joe Root will toe the ECB line to cement his position as Heir to the throne.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

It's his autobiography. It's an overview of his life and his career. I can't see why he shouldn't cover topics that feel important to him.

He says there was bullying within the dressing room. It may do some good in the future to make that point now. And if it suited the ECB to whitewash over the Ashes whitewash, and make one significant decision, to end KP's international career, then why would he follow the agenda that has obviously hurt him so much? It's his story to tell. It's easy enough to ignore.

It all looks so bad because the ECB have handled things so badly.

He wanted to score 10000 Test runs. It was Downton's choice to end his career. Surely the person exposing the controversy is less culpable than the person who instigated it?

Is it me or does it seem, KP has had problems with a few teams in his career? I don't bother normally reading that sort of stuff, so I may be incorrect. 'bullying' is a big word. I'd imagine there's a bit, if you want to call it bullying in every dressing room.

In keeping with The Simpsons theme and allegations that the bowlers are bullies, I guess this is James Anderson -

Some of the tit bits that are out certainly didn't come from KP's brain, they have the claw prints of Piers Morgan all over them. The cheese remark gives it away. If you're going to sneer using an intermediary is pretty poor stuff.

Pietersen was bullied by the bigger boys in the playground, give me a break. A very good cricketer but a complete and utter twat.
