I felt that Ponting always cracked under the pressure a little, either becoming cautious when Australia were put on the back foot, or becoming angry and confrontational. A good example was at Nagpur in 2008, when he hardly bowled his seam attack despite them looking decent, and stuck to part timers rotating.

Although gracious off the field, my image of him is of someone continually questioning the umpires.
Which has spread from there (possibly with DRS). In the WI, I embarrassingly heard Cook question the umpires' knowledge of the laws, for quite awhile.
Another thing that Ponting's era brought in, I'd guess from Buchanan, was the kind of corporate speak that helps kill the joy out of the game now. In 2005, Gilchrist sounded like a talking doll.

Not sure of the forecast tomorrow but if it stays dry there could be a decent amount of cricket for that.
