yes no one question Cook, people are questioning where the runs will be coming from apart from Cook and Root.
Still, England do have Cook and Root. Having two batters likely to be comfortable in the conditions is a plus for them, and an assessment of their batting should include them.
All the top order wickets in the Chittagong Test were taken by spinners. Bangladesh have better spinners than England. England scored more runs. Therefore it's arguable on the evidence so far that the BD batters don't play the spin particularly better than the England counterparts, especially considering the tourists won't be fully acclimatised yet.

bhaveshgor wrote:or the evidence suggest bangladesh batsman batted better but have a long tail.
their first 5 wicket scored more runs than england 5 wickets.
Bit odd saying the BD Batters don't play spin well when the spinners averaged 30 with the ball and were more expensive.
Thought Tamim Iqbal and M Rahim played spin really well.
bhaveshgor wrote:Not really sure how England can start favourites in the 2nd game, considering they got a worse spin attack and their batting is on par with bangladesh.
if bangladesh prepare a flat deck, ban get the advantage and if they prepare a turning deck ban again get the advantage.
really Bangladesh should be favourites to win the 2nd test.
England would do well to keep it 1-0.

the rest are all unknown quantity in Asia and they haven't really shown the technique to suggest they will score runs in Asia consistently either.
Some England batters may not be good against spin in India, however in no way imo Bangladesh is better than England.

Of the three players with good averages, two are English. Shakib has an ok average, the rest aren't good. England are mostly too inexperienced overseas to make the charts.
I think most people saw England getting out of their WC group as the absolute limit of their ambition, except for Peter Moores. Losing to BD wasn't a surprise.

Or it shows Bangladesh batman are better or similar Ability to Ian bell and Matt prior.
So what actual evidence is there England better than Bangladesh in batting in these conditions since only 2 Current English batsman make the List from England and most of the Bangladesh batting line up make it.
bhaveshgor wrote:Tbh when the likes of nasir hossain or soumya sarkar can't get into the side you know Bangladesh got a decent batting side. But no point discussing this here since most of you don't even watch or follow Bangladesh cricket but still go with the old stereotype that Bangladesh must be awful or *modded*.
