When Stokes and Bairstow took the game beyond BD in the second innings, and when Broad and Stokes took out the lower order when they threatened at the end. Which isn't to say BD didn't have good patches themselves, or weren't resilient, just that these proved significant in the eventuality of the result.
And until BD win, it will seem like this, that they don't win the big moments. They don't threaten when set only 30-odd on the last morning. They will surely begin to win. But currently, they don't win. And even if they may prevail in Dhaka, it currently seems sensible to predict that they won't.
So how does england winning a close game which suggest england and Bangladesh are 50-50 in these conditions mean in the next game England start favourite, if that really was the case then in the 2014 series India would be favourite to win the 3rd test.
pakistan to win the 2nd test and finally Australia to beat england in Edgebaston or trent bridge can't remember which game came after england winning at lords.
or England being favourites to win at lords in the same series.
So you really basing the fact England are favourites to win on what happened in the last game and not on what the cricketers can do.
If you really basing on what the cricketers can do then it would be no brainier Bangladesh start as slim favourites.
Considering they got the better spinners and a similar batting line up to England.
What do england offer awful spinners and them changing the pace attack, the only positive they have is batting depth.
Anyway what the point of discussing this if most people see England as favourites, people going to get huge shocks when Bangladesh actually do well again and England bowl badly and struggle with the bat.
