Duckett played lions but not overseas yet and Hameed never been part of any group except for the under 19 and he got dropped for the Asia leg/world cup.
Although it turns out Hameed played a lot of cricket in Asia from a young age.
Dobell also stated that with Vince, Hales, Ballance, plus countless other openers not doing well, the Selectors had no choice but to pick players without lions experience
I wasn't aware that Hameed had played cricket at any level in Asia, given he's been playing for Lancashire since he was 12. Could you elaborate on this as I'm genuinely curious about it.
For rich not sure why I even bothered to gather this information now.
So at what point did I say hameed was the player he was because of playing in india at a young age.
All I was implying was that ECB were not sure on Hameed because he never played lions or toured before so they were uncertain how he would cope in asia for the first time but it turned out Hameed actually played cricket in india before and was quite use to the conditions before.
what level of cricket he played in india is so irrelevant now so not sure why anyone needs proper evidence for it since it make no difference what so ever to the point that he played or been to india before.
the point is Hameed is a very good player and looks comfortable at playing spin in india and doesn't look like a novice and I pretty certain that is because he been to india so many times and played spin from a young age on similar decks.
