If I was a modest county pro coming towards the end of a contract, or with contract negotiations coming up, I'd be desperate to play Durham.
it could well keep me in a job for another year or two

I was viewing over extra cover shouldn't say if it was missing stumps. However it kept very low so in that respect he was unlucky.
Wood again confirmed he can bat looking comfortable against both the old and new ball. He seemed to be in discomfort though when running.
Called for Nigel, they had a long conversation ( loved to have earwigged that!). I think Nigel decided they'd have a balti rather than a Chinese on the evening.
Suspect he'll be with us until the end of the season as he's unlikely to be selected for the 2nd test when Stokes has business elsewhere as he won't have any red ball opportunity before that to test his fitness. After that with England going for 2 spinners and only 3 seamers can't see him being selected.
Yes. If the injury is just an unfortunate one, and not related to his numerous previous problems, it might be ok but if not he might have some thinking to do ( could be a problem!). Think you've mentioned before that he has talent with the bat and could maybe look to focus on that part of his game?
Tweet from Carse today wasn't overly encouraging - he seemed to be saying he's seeing a specialist ( in London thankfully!) to " get down to the bottom of things" That tweet and the chat I had with one of the regulars at the T20 the other week suggests he has a chronic injury. Or maybe the tweet meant he's in negotiations to join Sorry next year
