Beuran Hendricks is going to be a very tired man by the end of this match, because he's the only bowler showing good control, so Leics have to keep going back to him

clearly he did get tired because his 20 overs today went for 85

Agree about Dickson. He's been in good touch since the start of the warm up games. Not a superstar by any stretch of the imagination, but he seems flexible enough to bat anywhere in the order and that makes him very useful to us. After the early concerns that I had when he first arrived, he's proving himself to be a very good acquisition.

he had to work very hard at the start of his innings by the looks of things. In the morning session at least, Leics seem to have bowled well and put the batters under a lot of early pressure. Yet again, an opening bat demonstrates how patience and hard graft eventually paves the way for better batting later..... an approach that seems to have been a bit undervalued in recent years.

when I saw 17-2 after the first 30 mins, I feared the worst, so this is much better than I dared hope for

Yes, that start suggested a disaster was on the cards. It was a surprise when Dickson was out because there were no alarms at all - think Bedingham may have got an inside edge onto his pads shortly after his hundred. I think Eckersley did as well - did not look best pleased to be given out!

Thought they must have. BBC report has us winning it( even thoigh the scorecard has Leicestershire winning it )but the article is the same as the ESPN one! A shame how poor the press coverage of the county gane has become.

Seems that KP played on whilst 'driving loosely'

scorecard just says bowled Davis. I was a bit surprised because I've seen Davis bowl a few times and he's never impressed me at all, but that explains it really. I was watching on the live stream when Bedders went after him and Davis went for 12, 6 and 9 in successive overs. In 3 overs he pretty much undid all the hard work put in by Hendricks and Ackers

there are extra cameras on the live feed these days, so we must have spent a bit of money on it.

Marty was saying that there are the beginnings of rumblings about the possible demise of BBC radio coverage. Seemingly Middlesex have done an advertising deal with someone on their live feed and if other counties were to follow suit, it raises all sorts of issues for free to air BBC commentary

It would be a real shame if the BBC commentary goes but I'm surprised it has lasted this long given the scaling back of county cricket coverage over recent years.

Yes, should have managed it this morning. It's overcast in Pelton so presumably the same in CLS - could be decent bowling conditions this afternoon.
